Terms and Conditions

Last updated & effective: 5 November 2026

Welcome to IllamSync ("Portal", "Platform", "we", "our" or "us").

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of our website, applications, matchmaking services and associated features.

By registering, accessing, browsing or using this Portal, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, and any additional policies expressly made available for the services you choose.

If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue using the Portal.

1. Purpose of the Platform

IllamSync is a People-led community platform for the Illathupillaimar community. A People profile is the foundation for member access; optional matrimonial profiles support lawful marriage discovery, and business profiles provide business micro websites and community business connections.

The Portal may provide features including:

  • Creation and management of matrimonial profiles.
  • Searching and discovering prospective matches.
  • Community, family, heritage and background-based matchmaking.
  • Match compatibility scores and recommendations.
  • Sending, receiving and managing expressions of interest.
  • Communication between interested members.
  • Profile verification and trust indicators, where available.
  • Premium membership and additional matchmaking services, where applicable.

Matrimonial features are exclusively for genuine matrimonial purposes, not casual dating. People connections and authorised business profiles are separate services. Business promotion is permitted only within designated business features, without unsolicited messages or misuse of matrimonial information.

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements

  1. Users must be legally competent to enter into a binding contract under applicable Indian law.
  2. Account holders must be at least 18 and legally competent to accept these terms. Matrimonial candidates must meet applicable lawful marriage-age requirements, including 18 years for women and 21 years for men in India.
  3. Users of matrimonial features must have a genuine intention to seek a lawful matrimonial alliance.
  4. Individuals prohibited by law from entering into a marriage must not misrepresent their eligibility.
  5. Minors may not hold accounts or matrimonial profiles. A parent or lawful guardian may maintain a minor’s People-only family record with appropriate authority and consent; this does not enable matrimonial participation.
  6. Users residing outside India must comply with the marriage and contractual laws applicable in their jurisdiction.

We reserve the right to reject, suspend or terminate registrations that do not meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Registration and Profile Creation

Members create their own mandatory People profile. Verified People members may maintain authorised relatives’ People profiles. To create a matrimonial profile, a relative must claim their People profile using their own account and meet the same verification and eligibility requirements. Business profiles must be linked to the owner’s People profile. Every registration requires explicit agreement to these terms; acceptance is recorded separately from optional information-sharing consent.

By creating a profile on behalf of another individual, you confirm that:

  • You have obtained their knowledge and explicit permission.
  • The information submitted is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • The individual has agreed to the creation and publication of their matrimonial profile.
  • You are authorised to manage the profile and communicate on their behalf, where applicable.

The individual whose profile is created retains the right to access, manage, correct or request deletion of their profile.

Users are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.

4. Accuracy and Authenticity of Information

Every member is responsible for the authenticity of the information published on their profile.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Name, age and date of birth.
  • Educational qualifications.
  • Employment, occupation and income.
  • Marital status and previous marriage details.
  • Family background and relationship details.
  • Community, Illam, heritage and other cultural information.
  • Physical attributes and photographs.
  • Location and contact information.
  • Any other information provided during registration.

Users must not:

  1. Provide false, misleading, exaggerated or fabricated information.
  2. Upload photographs belonging to another individual without permission.
  3. Misrepresent their age, identity, marital status or qualifications.
  4. Hide material information with the intention of misleading prospective matches.
  5. Create multiple or duplicate profiles to manipulate search results.
  6. Impersonate another individual or family.

The Portal reserves the right to request supporting information, restrict visibility or suspend profiles suspected of providing misleading information.

5. Profile Verification

The Portal may introduce identity verification, mobile number verification, email verification, document verification or other authenticity checks.

Users acknowledge that:

  • Verification is intended to improve platform trust and does not constitute a guarantee of identity, background or character.
  • Verification badges indicate only the specific checks completed by the Portal.
  • A verified profile does not mean that every detail submitted by the user has been independently confirmed.
  • Users should independently validate important information before proceeding with a matrimonial alliance.

The Portal reserves the right to revoke verification status if information is found to be inaccurate or verification documents are found to be invalid.

6. User Conduct and Responsibilities

Every member is expected to interact with other members respectfully and responsibly.

Users agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, intimidate or abuse another member.
  • Send inappropriate, offensive, obscene or sexually explicit messages.
  • Make unsolicited demands for money, gifts or financial assistance.
  • Misuse matrimonial features for casual dating or non-matrimonial relationships.
  • Discriminate, insult or humiliate individuals based on community, family background, gender, disability or other personal characteristics.
  • Share another member's personal information without their permission.
  • Misuse photographs, profile details or contact information.
  • Misrepresent their intentions or relationship status.
  • Attempt to manipulate compatibility scores or matchmaking recommendations.
  • Promote businesses outside designated business features, send unsolicited commercial messages or use the Portal for political campaigns or unrelated solicitation.

Repeated or serious violations may result in account restrictions or permanent termination.

7. Matrimonial Communication and Consent

  1. Users must communicate respectfully. People direct messages require an accepted connection. Matrimonial quick messages require an accepted interest and applicable membership/access eligibility. Blocking or loss of eligibility can revoke both sending and access to conversation history.
  2. Sending an expression of interest does not guarantee acceptance or a response.
  3. Users must respect another member's decision to decline or discontinue communication.
  4. Members must not repeatedly contact individuals who have declined their interest or requested no further communication.
  5. Users must not pressure other members or their families into sharing personal information, photographs or contact details.
  6. Sharing contact details, photographs or private conversations outside the Portal must be done with appropriate consent.

The Portal reserves the right to restrict communication privileges in cases of reported misuse.

8. Community and Cultural Information

The Portal may provide community-based matchmaking features, including Illam, family lineage, cultural background, heritage and other community-related classifications.

Users are responsible for providing accurate information in these fields.

The Portal acts only as a facilitator for discovering compatible matrimonial profiles. It does not certify lineage, family ancestry, community affiliation or cultural credentials unless a specific verification service is expressly offered.

Community classifications and compatibility recommendations are intended to support discovery and must not be treated as a determination of an individual's worth, character or suitability for marriage.

9. Matchmaking, Compatibility Scores and Recommendations

The Portal may use profile information, preferences, algorithms and other available parameters to generate match recommendations or compatibility scores.

Users acknowledge that:

  • Match scores are indicative and are not scientific or definitive assessments of compatibility.
  • Recommendations are based on the information and preferences available at the time of calculation.
  • The Portal does not guarantee that recommended matches will result in communication, engagement or marriage.
  • Compatibility scores should not replace personal interaction, family discussions or independent judgement.
  • The Portal may modify its recommendation algorithms and matching criteria from time to time.

Final matrimonial decisions remain entirely with the individuals and their respective families.

10. Privacy and Personal Information

We recognise that matrimonial profiles contain personal and potentially sensitive information.

Personal information is processed to operate profiles, verification, discovery, communication, safety and membership features, subject to applicable data protection law. Accepting these terms does not consent to all optional sharing. People overview/interests reuse and horoscope attachment are separate choices. A People horoscope is owner-only unless expressly attached to a matrimonial profile. Authorised admins can review permitted profile details; a private, unattached horoscope is not made available to them.

Profile information is shown only according to access controls and selected sharing settings. Personal phone/email are masked from other members. Dedicated business phone/email and approach addresses are members-only. Opting into a public business page permits public display and indexing of business name, branding, overview, industry, products and website—not restricted member contacts or address details. Admin-only test profiles are excluded from public discovery. Previously issued signed photo links can remain usable until their short expiry; downloaded or shared copies cannot be recalled.

Users must:

  • Avoid publishing unnecessary confidential information.
  • Maintain appropriate privacy settings.
  • Not disclose another member's private information without permission.
  • Protect their login credentials and verification codes.
  • Notify the Portal if they suspect unauthorised access to their account.

The Portal will not intentionally disclose restricted profile information except as permitted by the user's choices, these stated privacy controls or applicable law.

Users may request access, correction, withdrawal of consent or deletion of their personal information, subject to applicable legal requirements.

11. Photographs and User-Generated Content

Users retain ownership of photographs, descriptions and other original content uploaded by them, subject to applicable intellectual property laws.

By uploading content, users grant the Portal a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and process that content solely for operating and providing the Portal's services.

Users confirm that:

  • They own the content or have permission to upload it.
  • The content does not infringe another person's rights.
  • Photographs are genuine and do not deliberately misrepresent the individual.
  • Content does not contain obscene, offensive, unlawful or misleading material.

The Portal reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms or applicable laws.

12. Prohibited Activities and Platform Misuse

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  1. Creating fake, duplicate or fraudulent profiles.
  2. Collecting or scraping member information without authorisation.
  3. Downloading, copying, selling or redistributing member databases.
  4. Using automated bots, crawlers or scripts to access the Portal without permission.
  5. Attempting to hack, disrupt or compromise platform security.
  6. Accessing another member's account without authorisation.
  7. Using the Portal for phishing, scams, fraud or financial exploitation.
  8. Advertising unrelated products, services or external matchmaking businesses.
  9. Circumventing platform security, privacy or membership restrictions.
  10. Using another member's identity or personal information for unlawful purposes.

Violations may lead to suspension, permanent account termination and appropriate legal action.

13. Safety and Financial Transactions

Users must exercise caution when interacting with prospective matches.

The Portal strongly advises members to:

  • Never transfer money to a prospective match or their representatives.
  • Never share banking credentials, OTPs, passwords or financial account information.
  • Avoid sharing identity documents unnecessarily.
  • Verify the identity and background of prospective matches independently.
  • Meet prospective matches in safe public places.
  • Inform trusted family members before arranging personal meetings.
  • Report suspicious behaviour, financial demands or fraudulent activity.

The Portal does not participate in or facilitate personal financial transactions between members.

We are not responsible for financial losses arising from transactions independently undertaken between users.

14. Third-Party Communication and Services

The Portal may provide links or integrations with third-party services, including messaging, payment gateways, identity verification providers and external websites.

Such services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

The Portal does not control or assume responsibility for third-party services, their availability, security or independent actions.

15. Membership, Subscription and Payments

Membership features are subject to the plans displayed on the Plans page. Paid membership is required for matrimonial submission and eligible contact features, including any valid launch-offer entitlement. Free members can prepare the required private gallery; gallery and verification requirements still apply. An upgrade request is not payment and does not activate membership. Activation requires an authorised entitlement update after applicable payment confirmation or a stated offer. Where payment is collected:

  • Membership fees and applicable taxes will be disclosed before payment.
  • The benefits and validity period of each membership plan will be clearly communicated.
  • Paid services will be activated subject to successful payment confirmation.
  • Users must not attempt to manipulate or misuse premium features.
  • Memberships are personal and non-transferable.
  • Renewal, cancellation and refund conditions must be disclosed before collecting payment; applicable statutory consumer rights remain unchanged.

No additional charges will be imposed without appropriate disclosure and user authorisation.

Refund enquiries may be sent to the contact email below. No separate refund policy or automatic checkout is represented as available by these terms; applicable consumer protection rights continue to apply.

16. Reporting, Complaints and Grievance Redressal

Users are encouraged to report:

  • Fake or misleading profiles.
  • Harassment or inappropriate communication.
  • Suspicious financial requests.
  • Identity impersonation.
  • Unauthorised use of photographs.
  • Privacy violations.
  • Any other breach of these Terms and Conditions.

The Portal may investigate complaints, request additional information, restrict accounts or remove content where appropriate.

Grievances may be submitted through:

Contact email: sivarajmu@illathupillai.com

Use the in-app reporting tools for profile concerns. A formally designated grievance officer and registered legal contact details will be published when supplied by the operator.

We will acknowledge and address complaints within the timelines prescribed by applicable law.

17. Account Suspension and Termination

The Portal reserves the right to temporarily suspend, restrict or permanently terminate an account if:

  • A user violates these Terms and Conditions.
  • False or misleading information is identified.
  • Fraudulent or suspicious activities are reported.
  • A member engages in harassment or abusive conduct.
  • The Portal identifies security or privacy risks.
  • Continued access is prohibited by applicable law.

Members may request account closure by contacting the email below. Removing a matrimonial profile does not remove the People profile, family links or account. Matrimonial removal is soft removal: limited moderation, abuse-prevention and audit history may be retained where legally justified. Account removal can preserve an unclaimed family record and moderation history, subject to applicable rights and retention obligations.

Upon termination, access to membership features will cease. Certain information may be retained where legally required or necessary and permitted for safety, audit and applicable law.

18. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Portal functions as a technology-enabled matchmaking and profile-discovery service.

We do not:

  • Guarantee the accuracy of every member-submitted profile.
  • Guarantee the genuineness, character or intentions of every registered member.
  • Guarantee the availability of suitable matrimonial matches.
  • Guarantee successful communication, engagement or marriage.
  • Conduct independent background investigations unless expressly stated.
  • Guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Portal.

Members are solely responsible for independently evaluating prospective matches before making matrimonial decisions.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Portal shall not be liable for:

  • Personal disputes between members.
  • Misrepresentation or misconduct by individual members.
  • Financial transactions undertaken independently between users.
  • Decisions made based on match recommendations or compatibility scores.
  • Losses resulting from unauthorised disclosure of information caused by a user's own actions.
  • Temporary service interruptions or technical failures beyond reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct or statutory consumer rights.

20. Indemnification

Users agree to be responsible for losses, claims and reasonable expenses arising from their unlawful conduct, material misrepresentation, infringement of third-party rights or breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

21. Intellectual Property Rights

All Portal branding, logos, designs, software, layouts, graphics, text, features and proprietary content are owned by or licensed to the Portal.

Users must not reproduce, modify, distribute, commercially exploit or reverse-engineer any part of the Portal without prior written authorisation, except as permitted by law.

22. Modification of Terms

The Portal reserves the right to revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

Material changes will be communicated through appropriate notifications or notices on the Portal.

Continued use of the Portal after the revised terms become effective will constitute acceptance of those changes, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Where fresh consent is legally required, it will be obtained separately.

23. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of India.

Disputes are subject to competent courts determined by applicable Indian law, without limiting statutory consumer rights or mandatory jurisdictional requirements.

24. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to remain in effect to the extent legally permissible.
